For a while, I have had lower back pain. I believe it is from cosmetology and bad body posture, but this past week I was told by my boyfriend to go to a doctor. Me being stubborn, I didn't want to. I kept saying no and that it'd get better, but I was wrong. So on February 1st, I stopped saying no and went. The doctor knew I don't necessarily enjoy spending time in hospitals. So she asked me, "Who wanted you to come in today?" I responded, "My boyfriend." She said, "That's a good boyfriend you got there. He cares about you, wants you to stay healthy." She knew how stubborn I was the last visit so she said, "You didn't have a boyfriend last year, but you have one now. He knows you're stubborn, but...That's not going to change how much he cares about you, so why be stubborn?" I wasn't expecting her to say that so I was a bit surprised, but she had a point. So this week, I learned that being stubborn is actually more useless than what I thought, because no matter how many times I will refuse to do something that would actually help me, that won't change how anyone else sees me, and how they want me to get better.
